Monterey >> The nonprofit Gathering for Women has established its permanent home for a fully equipped day center and commercial kitchen.
The program that has been helping homeless women on the Monterey Peninsula since 2014, providing them with critical care services, resources and a weekly home-cooked meal, is set to house all of its services at one new location at 147 El Dorado St. near downtown. Currently, it offers support services and food service in two separate locations. The new facility, which has been granted all of its occupancy and building permits by the city, is scheduled to open this spring with construction for tenant improvements and remodeling to commence in January.
