Ann Mahoney

Board Member, The Peggy and Jack Baskin Foundation

Raised in southern Maine, Ann Mahoney spent her early years in New England and graduated from Wellesley College in 1965 with a degree in political science. In 1968, she earned a BA in Education from the University of Georgia.

She has resided on the Monterey Peninsula for the past 45 years. In the 1970s Ann worked to establish the Commission on the Status of Women for Monterey County; was instrumental in the work of the Forest Committee which sought to preserve Del Monte Forest; and campaigned for Suzanne Paizis of Aptos, the first woman to run for state Senate in California. This led to her participation in Leon Panetta’s first campaign for Congress. After his election, she became part of the district staff for the new Congressman.

In 1979, Ann made the decision to move to the field of residential real estate and became a top producer in the Pebble Beach office of Del Monte Realty. She retired in 2006 to focus on her growing family of grandchildren and her community work.

Ann has served as President of the Board of the Big Sur Land Trust and President of the Homeowners at Quail in Carmel Valley. Ann and her husband John have been actively involved in numerous philanthropic activities on the Monterey Peninsula. They enjoy travel and spending time with friends and family.
