Nicole Baran, MA, MSW is the Executive Director and Board Member of the Peggy and Jack Baskin Foundation. She created the infrastructure and established the direction of the foundation since its inception in 2007.

Nicole received her BA and MA in English from Stanford University and an MSW from Washington University in St. Louis, with a specialization in management. She has been active in human rights advocacy, education and women’s equality for over twenty years. She has an extensive background in the nonprofit sector, in both fund and program development. In addition, Nicole has been teaching in the Feminist Studies Program at Stanford University since 2006.

Nicole is also the Executive Director and Founder of the Center for Relationship Abuse Awareness, a nonprofit that educates communities, institutions and young leaders to take action to end violence against women and gender-based violence. The center's website, www.stoprelationshipabuse.org, provides resources to over 25,000 visitors a month from 196 countries. In 2006, she successfully partnered with Stanford University to institutionalize a comprehensive response to gender-based violence on campus.  She managed a five-year grant from the USDOJ Office on Violence Against Women and was instrumental in implementing Stanford’s first Office on Sexual Assault and Relationship Abuse.

Nicole has delivered over 350 customized workshops, locally and nationwide, to organizations such as Kaiser Permanente, the San Francisco Bar Association, California’s State Domestic Violence Coalition and Exponent Philanthropy.
